TORTOISE.Julie's Pets and Reptiles stock a range species and a range of ages of tortoise at their pet shop in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, and a range of tortoise food and tortoise accessories at their market stalls at Catterick North Yorkshire and Billingham, Teesside. On the right is an photograph of 'Timmy' and 'Willow' both Sulcata tortoise which is the 3rd largest species. Timmy and Willow are NOT for sale. IGUANASJulies Pets and Reptiles now stock Iguanas. The Iguana is a genus of lizard native to tropical areas of and South America and the Caribbean. The two species of lizard within the genus Iguana possesses a dewlap, a row of spines running down their back to their tail, and a third eye on their head. This eye is known as the Parietal eye, which looks just like a pale scale on the top of their head. Behind their neck are small scales which resemble spikes, known as tuberculate scales. They also have a large round scale on their cheek known as a subtympanic shield

SKINKJulies Pets and Reptiles have added Blue Tongued Skink to their growing range of exotic reptiles. There are many types of Skinks across the world but the Blue Tongued Skink (named after the colour of its tongue) is a native of open woodlands, at the margins of forest and semi-deserts in Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea. Blue Tongue Skinks are omnivores, in that they eat both plant and animal matter, and can grow to 50cm (20 inches) or even longer. |
